Kamov Ka-252 is the prototype of the Ka-27 — made its maiden flight on 8 August 1973. In 1981 the Ka-27 was adopted by Soviet Navy as a standard anti-submarine helicopter. The Ka-28 is an export version of the Ka-27 and features different avionics and improved range. It was delivered to Yugoslavia, Syria, India and China.
