A lot of Pe-2 airplanes were equipped with ski undercarriage during the winter of 1941-42. Reliability of ski fastening and durability of the lockers were sufficient. But the speed of plane reduced by 34km per hour. Besides that the original Pe-2 had high cross-country ability and maneuverability even in deep snow. Therefore the ski undercarriage was not widely used.
